The Kalesnikoff Lumber sawmill is located in the community of Thrums, between Nelson and Castlegar. In 2018 Kalesnikoff Lumber engaged on an ambitious expansion to build a $35 million, 95,000 square foot Mass Timber Facility in South Slocan. The Mass Timber Facility applies innovative techniques to produce cross-laminated and glue-laminated mass timber products for the construction industry.
Kalesnikoff Lumber engaged WSA Engineering to provide engineering design and construction management services of concrete elements including foundation walls, retaining wall, slabs and column footings.
The project was completed in the fall of 2019 and the facility is expected to begin production in 2020.
