Town of Creston | Schikurksi Booster Station Renovation
In 2018, the Town of Creston engaged WSA Engineering to provide engineering design, tendering and construction management services for the renovation of the Schikurski Booster Station. The existing station was challenged to meet the increasing water demands of the Town.
DESCRIPTION:
The Town of Creston is located at end of the east arm of Kootenay Lake. Creston, with a population of 5306, is known for its agricultural products and is increasingly a regional tourist destination.
In 2018, the Town of Creston engaged WSA Engineering to provide engineering design, tendering and construction management services for the renovation of the Schikurski Booster Station. The existing station was challenged to meet the increasing water demands of the Town.
WSA assisted the Town by redesigning the existing station to include (3) vertical turbine pumps with provision for a fourth pump to be installed in the future. The station is located in a well-used public park. As part of the renovation the building was expanded to include an accessible public washroom.
The project is ongoing and is expected to be completed in May 2019.
